We Filipinos live in
a country or society in which we have the freedom in everything, freedom
to speak and to do everything we wondered about, but sometimes we violate and
overdo our freedom, we reckless things, sometimes violent.
Freedom
should be treated with precaution because, in every action we implement, there
will always be the consequences. Our heroes may give us freedom so we should
use it properly.
But We are a
generation in search of heroes because we have forgotten those who laid down
their lives for freedom and country. If we learn to recognize, value, and honor
their sacrifices, we will be able to see and appreciate the heroism of all
people in the past.
Dr. Jose Rizal who awaked the forgotten curiousness and opened the eyes to the unfortunate events during the
dark ages of the Filipinos, general Antonio Luna that continued to defend his
motherland despite his fellow Filipinos who betrayed him to President Elpidio
Quirino who forgive his enemies even though they killed his family during the
Japanese regime. These are few stories will continue to give us the beacon to
remember that they were the ones who save us, lift us, and help us to attain
and achieve freedom, and perhaps then we will finally realize that they are our
heroes we have been longing for, the heroes of the country that should not be
forgotten.
These few
stories should be continue to be told and should always be remembered by the Filipinos, Filipinos who
thanked all those in the past because they sacrifice not just the simple things
but they offered their life to the Philippines that rendered the way for us to
achieve freedom.
We must summon
courage and responsibility. Engrave this to our heart and mind the heroism of
all of our savior.
